I have this huge "Task" due today. That's what they call it: "Task 2." It's annoyingly big and useless and tedious.
I've been procrastinating completing it, completing more useless but easier "expected learning outcomes" as a way of avoiding it. However, there comes a time when even the most skilled procrastinator knows her time is up. So today I sat down at the computer at 9 a.m. and have been here almost ever since. I don't think I'll be meeting my personal record for assignment completion tonight.
The "almost" comes from the times that I got up to get something to eat, which was a lot of times. In the past twelve hours, I have eaten the following:
a strawberry banana smoothie
a glass of OJ
a handful of pretzels
a handful of granola
a few chips
a cookie
some more OJ
a bottle of water
another cookie and some more chips
another handful of pretzels
a tri-tip sandwich
grapefruit juice
another bottle of water
some more grapefruit juice
an entire bag of microwave popcorn
a half a pound of carrots
some more chips and a cookie
an M&M's ice cream bar
a bowl of pasta with cheese and beef
some more grapefruit juice
and about 3/4 of a pack of gum in an attempt to keep me from eating all of the above.
I'm currently contemplating a bowl of bananas and strawberries with whipped cream.
I started out strong, but it was that first handful of potato chips that did me in. I honestly think I ate more today than I have eaten all week. The scary part is that I actually still feel hungry.

Chips will do it to you everytime :^) Once you get that wonderful greasy, salty taste in your mouth, you can't stop thinking about all the other great tastes there are in the world (or specifically, your kitchen) And if you get to stop thinking about stupid assignments while you're eating, well that's just icing (ooo, icing--yummy)
